I build brands, products, and the kickass teams behind them.
I build brands, products, and the kickass teams behind them.
From Silicon Valley to Tokyo, I’ve led as a Senior Staff Designer at Google and as Founding Designer in global fintech. I believe world-class products emerge from world-class culture and I’ve made a career of shaping both.

Most product orgs draw a hard line between the teams building for users and the teams acquiring them. I don't. Every product has an audience upstream and one downstream. Both brand & value prop live or die by how consistently the narrative resonates across them. I forge tight bonds between builders and storytellers to hold the work to the same standard inside the product as out, and I'll push through any wall that stands between them.

Designers deliver briefs. Design leaders set direction. The delta is knowing not what to build, but where the business needs to go and what stands in the way. I invest in understanding the market dynamics and competitive landscape because it sharpens how I prioritize, where I push the team, and how I influence other parts of the company on behalf of the customer. I solve for the business, not around it – and I know the difference.

Design is truly ‘never finished.’ To me, that is less about obsessive refinement and more that the mastery is in navigating to the elegant solution, not the endpoint. As a manager I give designers a clarity of purpose that invites creative risk and makes it feel safe. Runway to develop their craft, latitude to experiment, and a growth trajectory they can own. Like yoga or medicine, design is the practice I tend not a discipline I deploy.
